Smart-Tech AGR work on site at designated dealerships to give confidence to our customers that all necessary manufacturer’s recalibrations and resets are carried out to exact standards prior to their vehicle hand-over.

Before the Replacement commences, as part of our TOTAL CARE we complete a Pre-Work Inspection (PWI) which allows us to notify our customer of any imperfections, or damage-no matter how minor.

Our Inspection Includes:

  • The entire exterior of the vehicle
  • The interior work area of the vehicle
  • The exterior work area of the vehicle
  • A digital inspection (images)

‘TOTAL CARE’ is the extensive protection of all the vehicle’s surfaces both internally and externally throughout the entire Replacement process.

We use an extensive range of high quality, low-adhesion masking tapes especially designed for work on delicate and freshly painted surfaces. Non-slip foam-backed covers are used on the bonnet, guards, roof, seats and dashboard for extra secure protection throughout the process.

Hand Tools: (Snap-on / Equalizer)

We use specialised, non-marking, reinforced nylon removal tools to ensure vehicle surfaces are not scratched, broken or damaged throughout the removal process. This includes paint, plastic, rubber compounds, carbon or metal surfaces.

Power Tools: (Snap-on / Makita)

Our power tools are selected from the world’s leading tool manufacturers which gives our technicians the ultimate in reliability and control in any situation and the efficiency and extra power when needed.

Milwaukee: (polyurethane gun)

The Milwaukee corking gun has a reputation as the best, and is the brand of choice by top tradespeople around the world. With its durability, extended battery life and superior designed internal gearing system, it allows a perfectly smooth and even Polyurethane bead every time. This results in vital and much needed precision.

WRD Spider: (WRD Removal Tool)

WRD have released the Spider Windscreen Removal Tool for the cut-out of bonded glass. This remarkable technology enables technicians to cut through the polyurethane adhesive between the vehicle body and the glass using only a high tensile, multi braided fiber line. This ensures no marking/scratching to vehicles and keeps both technician and vehicles safe from harm and damage.

Glas weld: Single cut system (SCS)

Glas weld have recently released their brand new fiber line removal system; the single cut system (SCS). This tool takes glass removal to the next level in precision, and pulling power. Made of Anodized Aluminum so it is light and durable and it has a stainless steel internal gearing system for that extra torque for the toughest of polyurethane compound.

Equalizer: (Cobra)

Equalizer are one of the biggest companies within the AGR industry. They have several removal tools to choose from and Smart-Tech have selected the Cobra which gives our technicians the choice of either using fiber line, or using a steel cutting wire which is square in shape. The steel wire allows us options when we’re working on older model vehicles with previous replacements. It is also our tool of choice if we need to remove and save undamaged glass in the case of rectification or panel shop work.

Fiber line

Fiber line, or cord, is the very latest in glass removal technology. It gives our technicians the confidence of a 100% clean removal without the risk of damage to the windscreen aperture; eliminating trips to the paint shop. Plus it gives more protection to the interior trims such as dashboards, A pillar trims, headliner and the all-important hidden wires and electrical components. Smart-Tech AGR uses three types of fiber line for different applications. WRD P8 Spider line 1 mm (165kg). PMA fiber cord 0.6mm (120kg). Glas weld SCS fiber line 0.5mm (105kg).
